Whew....where's my energy?

Well, I thought the 2nd trimester was supposed to be easier? I have to admit it would be for a normal person....but I can't have a normal pregnancy. I am a little over 20 weeks...4 1/2 months and I am T-I-R-E-D!!

From about 6 weeks to about 15/16 weeks I had this amazingly severe cough. You know, the kind where you feel as though your lung is going to come out? It was bad, Matt would ask me, "Do you really have to cough that hard? I've never heard anyone cough like that." After a time or two he learned to NEVER ask me that again. He meant well, he kept wanting me to go to the Dr. but I declined until he finally forced me to. And the Dr. said..."It's just a cough, no infection, there isn't anything we can do." Then he really left me alone about it and did actually feel bad for me. Especially the mornings, middays, and evenings where I would cough and cough until I just threw up.

So now, I have another issue....and again this one isn't pregnancy related either! I have a self inflicted (very, very, very, very, mild) form of whiplash. I know, I know, you ask, "How did you do that?" Well about a week and a half ago I was laying (very comfily I might add) on the couch with my laptop when one of my coughing attacks snuck up on me without warning. I jerked my body up and felt a little pull in the left side of my neck. And "there you go" there's my neck issue! So luckily my Uncle is a WONDERFUL chiropractor and he has me (almost) back to my normal self.

I just haven't had the chance to enjoy all those naps and sleeping sessions that you hear pregant women experience. Considering that I was either coughing......or now dealing with my achy neck

Seriously, why can't I just have a normal pregnancy symptom. Actually I've had a very easy pregnancy, I think my guard's just been down. My head's been in the clouds over being pregnant and realizing our dream of having a child is real, we're really going to have a baby and whiplashes and coughs are just sneaking up on me!

So with that being said all of the above has made me a somewhat lazy person. I'm trying to work on that. I did a little more housework than normal and Mom and I went for a walk for a little exercise. I can't wait to put Carter in a stroller and walk around the neighborhood.

Toodles, off to the 'rents house for our weekly Sunday dinner!

Anxiously Awaiting Carter's Arrival

  1. Well, well, well...looky who I found in Blogville! I'm so glad and I'll be checking back often to hear updates and - eventually - SEE Carter!

Take care and - don't feel bad - you're not the only one who's lazy. Unfortunately, I don't have a horrible cough or whiplash to blame it on. Those are actually valid excuses!

Can't wait to see you soon and your baby bump. Still so happy for you guys! Now take care and don't be botherin' Matt too much with that cough and easy on your neck:) I'm telling you it is CRAZY what can happen when you are pregnant!
